First things first, New Moon 1 bedroom premier villa is brand brand new. It was literally built in November 2024. It has dedicated fibre optic wifi of 320mbps. And it comes at a very affordable price. It is fully equipped with a plunge pool, living room, kitchenette, bathroom and an upstairs loft with a king size bed, office space and a security box.
In short it is your tiny home away from home, with all necessary amenities and a very friendly staff to serve you 24/7. Oh did we mention there is a staffed reception area as well? The price might not include breakfast, but just 50 metres away is one of the best places in Bali to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner – namely Warung Dua. You can order your morning eggs any style. At lunch opt for the endless buffet options. And for dinner, well there is the a la carte menu. The sweets are to kill for. Choice is endless from vegan/healthier options to more indulgent classics.

The neighbourhood:
Nestled between chic Seminyak and hipster Canggu, Umalas has become one of the most exclusive locations in Bali with a number of gourmet restaurants, trendy cafés and luxury spas. To be exact, this villa is next to (50metres away) Warung Dua and Bucu.
Favourite picks of cafés & restaurants in Umalas include:
- Warung Dua: favourite among expats and with a relaxed vibe, Warung Dua offers coffee, fresh juices and yummy Indonesian food. It is a great pit stop in Umalas if you are looking for quick, tasty and cheap food and would be a great introduction to the famous ‘Indonesian Warungs’.
- Habitual: A small exclusive café with some one-of-a-kind burgers that is only open for breakfast and lunch. With a world class American chef and a contemporary chic décor, this place is dressed in dark colours to create an ambiance! The café also offers pasta, soups and salads and some yummy desserts.
- Bucu: must-go for a family as it has an interesting playground downstairs (including an inflatable water castle when the sun is out). The playground is half inside and half outside so it is also convenient during the rainy season. As well as that, the food, coffee and atmosphere are great!
- Nook: With its unbeatable rice field views, this open spaced place serves Balinese specialties in addition to Western favourites at very reasonable prices. The heavenly juices, huge smoothies and seafood kebab or fresh oysters on a Sunday are real crowd pleasers.
- Monsieur Spoon: An oh-la-la French bakery perfect for a ‘petit dejeuner’. Definitely the best croissants on the island but not only limited to that. Do also try the breakfast, lunch and dinner options and you will not be disappointed!
- La Casetta: For pizza lovers, this is your place. Pizzas don’t come better than this, the pasta is to die for and don’t even get me started with the pannacotta or ‘Sorbetto al Limone’ for dessert. It is one of our favourite Italian restaurants for a very good reason!
Getting around:
The staff can arrange car with driver for day trips as well as motorbike rentals. Price for motorbike rentals ranges from 80.000 IDR for a standard Vario to 250.000 IDR for the more premium Nmax.

The villa is big enough for one person, with strong AC and fast internet. Everything is new and clean.
The pool is great plus though it is quite small but that’s how it is marketed – as a plunge pool. Staff
very professional and helpful. The restaurant next door – I think it is called Dua – has very nice food
from Western to local options. Lots of healthy options too. Would go there at least once per day.
What a nice hidden gem! We came with my boyfriend and fell in love with the villa. Yes, it is not the
most instagrammable villa you will find in Bali but it is clean, new and has everything you would
need for a couple. Plus the price is great! There is a small kitchen that came in handy as we stayed
for 10 days and though food is pretty cheap in Bali we did not want to go out every single day. Our
little pool was always very clean. We loved the smiles of the staff who would come in a minute to
help us out. And of course there was daily cleaning and everything worked as it should (not common
with villas in Bali). We would definitely recommend this villa for a couple! Ps: Internet was super fast
and reliable.
I had an amazing stay at this villa. Nothing to complain about! The staff even surprised me with a
cake at the day of my birthday. So thoughtful of them! I needed good internet as I was working
remotely and the internet was beyond fantastic. The pool though small was very clean. Everything
was new and you could see that. Loved chilling at my bed at night – when I did not go out and watch
some series on Netflix. A big thank you to everyone at the villa and Anna from Bali Comfy Villas. I will
be sure to come back when I return to Bali!
Absolutely perfect 10/10 without hesitation. You get exactly what you paid for and a bit more. Yes,
the villa is not in Canggu or Seminyak (Bali’s most touristic areas) but for one person, it is a perfect
choice. Great alternative compared to a hotel room as you get your private pool and living room.
And Umalas is in between Canggu and Seminyak so if you rent a bike, you can still go to the hot bars
and restaurants in less than 20 minutes.
I came with my girlfriend as we were looking for something new and at a reasonable price. We
checked for other 1bed options and were shocked with the hike in prices over the last year. We
loved this villa because it is new and everything works well. No AC leaking or half working, no broken
showers. The villa manager was always available for us and so was the staff at reception. Super
friendly and polite and always with a smile. We are definitely coming back!
